Go to the Frozen realm, and find and befriend a character named Anna. When she returns to the Dreamlight Valley, you will need to raise her friendship to level 2, which is very easy. Simply give her a flower, or have a daily conversation with her.

After reaching friendship level 2 with Anna, she will offer a quest called “An Icy Invitation.” You will receive the Shovel Blade as a reward, which will allow you to get rid of stumps as easily as digging a hole.

To complete the quest “An Icy Invitation”, be sure to acquire the following items:

  • 10x Softwood
  • 4x Hardwood
  • 4x Iron Ingot
  • 3x Tinkering Parts

You can find Softwood beneath trees all across the Valley, so visit a place like the Plaza or the Peaceful Meadow to get it quickly.

You can find Hardwood by visiting the Forest of Valor or the Glade of Trust.

You can acquire Iron Ingots by combining 5 Iron Ores with 1 Coal Ore, both of which can be easily farmed in the Forest of Valor or the Glade of Trust.

You can acquire Tinkering Parts by combining two Iron Ingots at a crafting station.

Once you have each of the four items in your inventory, you can visit a crafting station to make a Shovel Blade. After it has been crafted, open your inventory and use it to upgrade the shovel. This will allow you to dig up all of those stumps across your valley just like you would dig a hole.
