Certain biomes in the Dreamlight Valley have barriers that prevent you from accessing areas within them. You often need to complete quests for certain characters to clear the way, in addition to mushroom batches that stand between you and the other side of the Glade of Trust.
How to Get Rid of Mushrooms in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Mushroom batches in Disney Dreamlight Valley come in two types, including the smaller batches found all over, and the larger ones that block the two bridges in the Glade of Trust. To clear these, you will need to upgrade your watering can twice.
How to Get Rid of Small Mushroom Batches in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Reach level 8 friendship with Merlin, then acquire the quest “A Dark Experiment.” This requires you to find the following materials:
- 20x Mushrooms
- 5x Emeralds
- 3x Purified Night Shards
Little white mushrooms can be foraged in the Glade of Trust, while emeralds can be mined from the same area or the Forest of Valor. You will then need to find and dig up sparkling spots across the Valley to acquire the necessary Dream Shards and Night Shards that combine at a crafting station to create Purified Night Shards.
How to Get Rid of Large Mushroom Batches in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Although the initial upgrade allows you to clear the small mushroom batches, Merlin is necessary to upgrade the watering can a second time to get rid of the larger batches. Reach level 10 friendship with Merlin to acquire the quest “The Final Trial.”
This quest will ask you to craft another 5 Purified Night Shards, so follow the instructions listed above to find the materials and craft those. Take the purified shards to WALL-E, who will crush them down into Purified Night Shard Powder. Take this to Merlin and accept the next part of the quest.
You will then need to gather the following materials and items:
- 25x Mushrooms
- 1x Falling Water
- 1x Ice Heart
You can continue gathering the white cooking mushrooms in the Glade of Trust, then, while in the same biome, visit the place where the river flows over the edge of the world to find a glowing spot containing the Falling Water. Finally, dig a hole somewhere and plant the Ice Tear Seed from your inventory, then water the seedling to watch it grow into a harvestable plant, granting you the Ice Heart.
Take all of these items back to Merlin, at which point he’ll finally upgrade your watering can a final time so that you can clear the large mushroom batches. With that out of the way, you can make your valley a mushroom-free zone.
