According to an article published in the Houston Chronicle, 3201 University Boulevard was built at the request of Dr. Jean Cukier in 1992. The design plans included a home resembling a stealth fighter jet. Nicknamed the “Darth Vader House,” it appears as though it could launch into space at any time with its pointy metal roof and stacked rock full of deep greys.

A tower of even more rocks greets the entrance to the residence, which faces the corner of Buffalo Speedway and West University. Two front doors are set on opposing corners of the house.

Visitors can expect grand staircases that float, with windows that stretch as high as the ceiling. Behind the staircases sits a sunken living room. The entire interior is meant to feel like you’re walking through a canyon, according to architect Randy Hickey.

The resemblance to a canyon stretches throughout the interior with white concrete and black jagged stone floors. Snake plants line the edges of the living room along with garden beds. Furthermore, the area is lit with LED lighting to create the illusion that visitors are floating.

Tinted windows cover the back structure, which provides privacy from outdoors but allows light to pass through. A custom waterfall and pool provide serenity to the serious ambiance.

In the kitchen, stone countertops were cut by hand and serrated to look like tombstones. With five bathrooms and four bedrooms spread across a total space of 7,040 sq. ft., the home is capable of accommodating a family of five. But of course, it’s more ideal for a bachelor.
