How to Enable Cities Skylines Cheats

Cities Skylines cheats are built into the game itself by the developer and can be toggled on/off at will by the player.

On the Main Menu, click and open the Content Manager, then on the left, select the Mods tab. At the moment, there are five available Cities Skylines cheats you can use, and they include:

  • Hard Mode
  • Unlimited Money
  • Unlimited Oil and Ore
  • Unlimited Soil
  • Unlock All

You can enable as many of the Cities Skylines cheats as you want at any time.

Note: enabling at least one Cities Skylines cheat will prevent the ability for you to earn achievements or trophies. However, there is a Steam Workshop mod that circumvents this.

What do the Cities Skylines cheats do?

Each of the various Cities Skylines cheats offers unique effects designed to enhance the player experience.

Hard Mode

If you desire a greater challenge when playing the game, the Hard Mode cheat for Cities Skylines includes the following:

  • Building and Maintenance costs are increased by 25%.
  • Relocation costs are increased.
  • Destruction of buildings returns 50% fewer resources.
  • RCI demand is reduced.
  • Slower leveling for buildings.

Unlimited Money

This cheat is as simple as it gets. It ensures you can build infinitely without draining any of your funds.

Unlimited Oil and Ore

This cheat ensures you can extract resources from the earth without draining oil and ore resources in your city.

Unlimited Soil

This cheat removes the cost of landscaping activities, including planting trees, natural items, and terraforming. You can easily mold your city as you see fit.

Unlock All

As you play the game, you need to gradually complete tasks over time to unlock items and services for your city. This cheat gives you access to every item at the beginning and turns the experience into a creative sandbox with no limits.
