The various genres that encompass Anime have a habit of producing similar protagonists, like the highly energetic heroes in popular shonens or the hopeless romantics featured in shojos. Anime Zodiac Signs are a way of determining which of these character archetypes populating across different mediums encompass your personality. Find out which of the Anime Zodiac Signs you fall under below! Fair warning: we will be making heavy use of the 'dere' term to describe these identities. Capricorn: Mr. / Mrs. Glasses Think of those wildly spectacular glasses characters in Anime, with dashing looks and high intellect. My Hero Academia's Iida or Ouran Highschool Host Club's Kyoya immediately come to mind. Or haven't you heard of Sakamoto? Often expressing stoicism, they allow their cleverness to be their main field of communication. Furthermore, they tend to prefer logic over any kind of emotion. Aquarius: The Classic Otaku These folks are obsessive creatures with a passion for both the uncanny and strange. They're hardcore nerds with a deep love of anime and video games. You'll find their rooms decked out with expensive merchandise and their clothes covered in tons of well-known geek brands. What's more, they'll always take the most extreme measures to worship their waifus and husbandos. Do not let their religious fandom intimidate you. They're just really loyal. Pisces: Elder of Wisdom Too many Anime protagonists are high school teenagers stuck in cliche coming-of-age storylines. But what about the older vessels that guide them through these journeys? Where would characters like Yugi be without the mentorship of wise elders like Mutou, or Tanjiro from Demon Slayer without Sakonji? These characters have decades of experience that typically impresses wrinkles on their face and grey on their hairlines. Deep dreamers and thinking, the Pisces sign represents the conclusion of a cycle when everything that can be learned is finally mastered. Aries: Hero of Shonen Every Shonen anime is chock-full of action-adventure that demands a strong hero to carry the story. Typically, such heroes are fierce in nature, extremely determined, and champion their beliefs in any case. Aries display such traits too, and their irrevocable convictions drive their endeavors. They enjoy leading and tend to dive head-first into any challenge. Many common Shonen heroes can be seen among characters, such as Son Goku from Dragon Ball and Saitama from One Punch Man. Taurus: Shy Dandere Always so timid and unwilling to speak up, dandere characters are very even-tempered like those of the Taurus sign, and often appear stoic. Even though they aren't always bashful, the overwhelming majority find themselves avoiding the crowd. These characters enjoy being alone and staying inside of their shell. Still, when they are encouraged by someone close that they trust, they'll reveal their bold confidence. Gemini: Lovestruck Deredere Meet the hopeless romantic that will stop at nothing to show their affection to those that they love. Full of happiness, these kinds of characters try to spread the same enthusiasm everywhere they go. That doesn't come at a price though, as many of these characters are just plain airheaded. Their optimism and naivety can be seen among popular faces like Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket and Chika Fujiwara from Love Is War. Cancer: Magical Princess Cancers are no strangers to deep-welled emotions. If they were to acquire superpowers, they'd easily translate such sensitive feelings into magic. Famous for their dazzling outfits and dedication to protecting the world, magical girls harness their emotions into raw magical energy. It often comes at the cost of stability, as seen in Madoka Magica's Sayaka or Sailor Moon's Usagi. Leo: Prideful Oujidere Leos are the head of the Animal Kingdom, and take great pride in their ability to perform well in their tasks and endeavors. Sometimes though, they go too far and come across as overconfident, egotistical, or vain. This can easily be seen in characters like Ciel Phantomhive from Black Butler and Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh! Regardless of their arrogant demeanor, Leos are quite exceptional in their strive for perfectionism as Anime Zodiac Signs. They also make for great leaders. Virgo: Pragmatic Kuudere Anime characters falling under the Kuudere class are comparable to Virgos for their cool, calm, and collected stature. They tend to not display much outside emotion, but their relaxed, deadpan expression makes for wondrous dry humor and sarcasm. Their self-control keeps themselves in check in a way that cannot be seen in any other sign. When they open themselves up, their emotions are purposeful and never to be mistaken as a sign of weakness. Find them among characters like Roberta Cisneros from Black Lagoon and Saver from Fate/Zero. Libra: Merciless Tsundere The Tsundere is one of those special character archetypes in anime to describe those who act cold towards those that they like. Libras love flirting and tend to be social butterflies. However, upon responding to them, they may freeze and be unsure of how to handle you. Even if a Tsundere comes across as confident on the front, they're often confused by their internal feelings to know the right way to behave. No one quite embodies this archetype like Taiga Aisaka from Toradora. Still, others include Takumi Fujiwara from Initial D and Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen. Scorpio: Intense Mayadere In Anime, the mayadere is a reference to a character that usually begins as a heinous villain but later befriends the hero after a change of heart. Scorpios fall in line with this archetype because their demeanor can easily intimidate others. They keep eternal grudges, so it's best to stay clear of their bad side. Find an ally in them though, and they'll always be willing to support you with ambition. See examples of this type of persona in Inuyasha from InuYasha and Quinche from Tokyo Mew Mew. Sagittarius: The Challenger (or Rival) Every long-running series typically has a Shonen hero facing up against others with shared fiery passions seen in other Anime Zodiac Signs such as Leo and Aries. As such, the Sagittarius makes for the ultimate rival character to compete against. These kinds of personalities enjoy travel and gaining knowledge from life experiences. Their determination and friendly attitude allow them to excel at lifting the spirits of others.
