Unlockables

$1,000 Money Bag

In the starting area of Stage 1, where you collect weapon powerups and hearts, if you jump past the exit door, a money bag will spawn behind you worth $1,000. Make sure to jump back past it so you don’t proceed to the second part of Stage 1.

Easy Lives

On Stage 2 underneath the starting door, there is a candle that drops a money bag worth $700. If you grab it, walk down the stairs, back up, and the candle with the money bag respawns. You can repeat this process until you hit 30,000 points as this will be the necessary amount to gain a life.

This is a time-consuming process, but you will be able to gain 2 lives before the timer runs out, ensuring you gain an extra life for each death. The plus side is that it’s just below the Stage 2 entrance so you do not have to go far.

Hard Mode

Beat the game once. On your second playthrough, hard mode will be available.

Play Without Music

Allow the demo from the title screen to play twice. Once it appears a third time, hit the START button to begin a new game. This will make it so all you hear are sound effects until you reach a new level.

Castlevania is a platformer game developed by Konami and initially released in 1986 for the NES/Famicom.
