The popular game mode Zombies makes a return in Call of Duty: Vanguard, the 2021 entry in the long-running franchise. This guide will explain how to complete the Der Anfang easter egg challenge.
Easter eggs are hidden achievements in Call of Duty, primarily featured in the Zombies mode created by developer Treyarch. Many of these challenges can be done alone, while others require cooperative multiplayer to succeed.
Zombies in Vanguard takes place across four maps. These include:
- Der Anfang
- Shi No Numa
- Terra Maledicta
- The Archon
Get access to Von List’s office
Begin by running over to the portal in Fountain Square to activate the objective and gain access to the Panzer Column East section of the map (where the Quick Revive fountain is located). Complete the objective, then return to the area you were in previously.
Head over to the next portal in the Store area of the map. Complete the objective, then return to the area you were in previously.
Finishing the first two objectives will grant you access to Von List’s office. The office, labeled as Command Post, can be accessed by proceeding up the nearby staircase that opens up. This location includes a portal for the survival objective known as Shi No Numa Void.
Before you enter the portal, ensure that you collect as many perks as you can, particularly Jugger Nog.
Shi No Numa Survival Guide
Go inside the Void portal and fend off waves of zombies for three rounds in order to finish the objective. Then, exit the portal to get back to Stalingrad. You will then be presented with a cutscene that features Kortfiex, a major antagonist in Vanguard Zombies.
Speak to Krafft
Your next task is to speak to Professor Kraftt. Go back up the staircase leading to Von List’s office. Look to your right after you reach the top level to find a red X on a marked door. Krafft then demands you collect missing spell book pages to break the seal from the Tomb of Rituals.
Speak to Norticus
You cannot complete Krafft’s objective yet. Instead, exit the area of the office to trigger dialogue with Norticus. Then, head to the Apartments area.
A portal objective will need to be completed to unlock the area of the map. After you get access, go to the upper floor. Search for a room containing two skeletons seated in chairs and a candlelight.
A stone tablet will be on the floor. Interact with this to trigger more dialogue with Norticus and various Dark Aether entities.
Go back to Krafft
Once the dialogue in the Apartments has been completed, return to Krafft in Von List’s office. The moment you reach the top of the staircase, turn around to view a new green portal.
At the moment, the green portal is inaccessible, and there is currently no known way to collect the missing pages from the spellbook Tomb of Rituals.
