Borderlands 2 – Tips & Tricks

borderlands 2 cheats

Here are all the guides, tips, and strategies to enjoy playing Borderlands 2.

Duplicating Weapons, Items, and Money

Start a co-op game with at least one other player. Stand next to another player, and initiate a trade. Give them the desired weapons/items/money you would like to duplicate. Then, immediately quit the game without saving by signing out of your profile, going to the dashboard, or resetting the system.

Since the game did not save after you traded the weapons/items/money, you will still have them, and the other player you traded them to will also have them. The other player can then give you weapons/items/money while using the same method.

Repeat this as many times as desired.

Note: Do not trade items near an auto save point to prevent the game from accidentally saving while trading the items.

Easy Leveling

Play through the first optional mission from Tiny Tina entitled “You Are Cordially Invited” which requires you to lure a thug named Flamestick to his demise. Go through it as instructed until you are supposed to bring Flamestick to the table that Tina has prepared.

Rather than bringing Flamestick to the destination, kill him for major experience points. This will fail the mission, but allow you to repeat the process infinitely for easy XP.

Easy Money, Eridium, and XP

After defeating the main campaign’s boss, stay in the same chamber and use a Commando or Mechromancer character to spawn turrets that continuously take out Rakk enemies that spawn. The DT duration of the Mechromancer increases with each kill if the skill is maxed.

Instant Reload

To quickly reload your weapon, open your equipment and inventory menu, which effectively pauses the game (if you’re playing without friends).

Choose the weapon you wish to reload, then switch it out for another weapon from your inventory, and then switch the weapons yet again.

The desired weapon now has a full clip, assuming you had the ammo for that, and you can exit the menu and get back to the action without waiting to reload. Note that this technique will not work if your character is in “fight for your life” mode.

SHiFT Codes

Enter one of the following codes under your SHiFT account at Gearbox Software to unlock the corresponding bonus.

Note: Some codes may expire over time or after a number of redemptions.

True Vault Hunter Mode

Complete the standard Story mode to unlock True Vault Hunter mode. This features more difficult enemies and you can earn additional experience points. Switch between difficulty settings by accessing the character selection screen.

Unlimited Rare Items

In Sanctuary you can find Michael Mamaril, the NPC who pays tribute to a late Borderlands fan. When you talk to him, he’ll reward you with a rare item (blue or better).

Save your game and quit to the menu, then load your save file and find Michael again. You can do so as often as you like, then either keep the items or sell them for profit. Michael moves around Sanctuary a lot, so you may have to look for him a bit.

Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode

Successfully complete the game in True Vault Hunter mode to unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter mode.
