How to Fix Haste Helm Momentum Not Working in Baldur’s Gate 3
In order to fix this bug, you have to unequip and requip the helmet. There is no known reason for why it happens and no apparent official fix either.
Luckily, the above workaround solves it in no time. It should be fixed for good when the developers release an update patching it.
- Access your Inventory.
- Go to the character who is using the Helmet.
- Drag and drop the helmet out of your head slot into the inventory to unequip it.
- Next, drag it back to the head slot to equip it.
- Now, move and the Smooth Start effect will start working again.

Smooth Start is the effect you get with Haste Helm, it gives you Momentum for the next 3 turns at the start of combat. Momentum is useful to increase your movement by 1.5m.
