Baldur’s Gate 3, the highly anticipated upcoming RPG by Larian Studios, seems to have more possible variations to its ending than anyone could guess, with nearly 17,000 branching sequences.

Having 17,000 variations means that there is a definitive ending with a ton of subtle and minor differences, likely for flavor and the result of players’ decisions made throughout the story.

The campaign will take anywhere between 75 to 100 hours to complete according to Larian. For completionists, the developer has said to expect around 200 hours.

All that content serves to give you a tremendous amount of choice and consequence, ensuring everyone’s adventure will be unique.

In an official blog post, Larian said the title contains more “cinematic dialogue” than all three novels in the Lord of the Rings series combined. Coming in at 174 hours, this figure is also more than double the length of every Game of Thrones season combined.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a role-playing game based on the popular tabletop adventure known as Dungeons and Dragons. It’s being helmed by Larion Studios, known for producing the Divinity: Original Sin series. The game is set to release on August 3 for PC and September 6 on PlayStation 5.
