With Season 19: Ignite of Apex Legends right around the corner, beginning on Halloween, many players have felt as if Christmas came early after developer Respawn Entertainment made the announcement that cross-progression will finally be added to the game.
This announcement was made in the launch trailer and was confirmed by Respawn during earlier previews this week that the new feature would debut alongside the new Season when it goes live on October 31.
During previews for Season 19: Ignite, the devs explained that merging accounts would also merge all cosmetics. This means a Legendary-tier Revanent skin on your PC account and a Legendary-tier Wraith skin on your PS account will be available for access no matter whether you play on PC, PlayStation, or some other platform.
Whichever account is “dominant” in terms of stats and stat trackers becomes the player’s primary account, and will merge all cosmetics from accounts on other platforms to it.
However, if you purchased event/store/battle pass cosmetics and have copies of those on multiple accounts, there are “absolutely no refunds” for those, said Respawn. This extends to Mythic-tier items like Prestige Skin Sets and Heirloom Weapon Sets.
Cross-progression has been a desired feature of Apex Legends by fans for a very long time, and it has been delayed many times. It will be available the minute Season 19: Ignite goes live on October 31 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
Apex Legends is a free hero-based battle royale shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment and initially released in 2019 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
