During your first few days of playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll have to get your hands on Iron Nuggets to unlock the island’s first store, craft tools, and build various structures.
Iron Nuggets are received from rocks, which also give clay and stone. Each day, one of the rocks on your island will give Bells rather than resources. You should check your rocks frequently so that you have plenty of Iron Nuggets when necessary.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons (2020) is exclusively available on Nintendo Switch.
How to farm Iron Nuggets
To farm Iron Nuggets in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, keep hitting the rocks that populate your island with either an axe or shovel until they stop spitting out items.
Shovels work best to maximize the loot you get per rock. You need to hit the rock in rapid succession as it stops spitting our resources after a certain amount of time passes.
- Hold your shovel and stand next to a rock.
- Dig two holes to box yourself in between them and the rock. This prevents you from bouncing backward.
- Keep hitting the rock quickly until it’s drained of resources.
Endless Iron Nuggets
In order to get endless Iron Nuggets, you will need to purchase a Nook Miles Ticket at the airport for 2,000 Nook Miles and travel to a random island. You will find plenty of rocks to hit there.
Furthermore, you can manipulate the date/time in the Nintendo Switch settings and time travel to the next day.
