1. Genetic Apex

The expansion emphasizes Generation I Pokémon, featuring iconic characters like Mewtwo, Charizard, and Pikachu, each showcased in their own themed booster packs.

Notably, certain cards are exclusive to specific packs, encouraging collectors to explore all three. The set also introduces immersive and full-art cards, blending new illustrations with reimagined classic artwork. Additionally, players can engage in solo AI battles using decks from this expansion, offering rewards and strategic insights .

2. Mythical Island

Mythical Island Pokemon TCG Pocket Expansion

The Mythical Island expansion was released on December 17, 2024, marking the game’s first post-launch mini-set. This themed booster pack, featuring Mew, introduces 86 new cards, including five powerful Pokémon ex cards, such as Celebi ex, Aerodactyl ex, and Mew ex, along with 16 full-art cards and immersive artwork.

The expansion brings strategic depth to gameplay. Celebi ex, for instance, boasts the “Powerful Bloom” attack, which can deal significant damage based on the number of Grass Energy attached and coin flips. When combined with support Pokémon like Serperior and Lilligant, which enhance energy attachment, Celebi ex becomes a formidable force in battles

3. Space-Time Smackdown

The Space-Time Smackdown expansion released on January 30, 2025, introduces 207 new cards, including 52 secret rares, centered around the Sinnoh region. The set features two themed booster packs—Dialga and Palkia—each highlighting their respective Legendary Pokémon.

Key additions include powerful Pokémon ex cards such as Dialga ex, Palkia ex, and Pachirisu ex, alongside fan-favorite Pokémon like Lucario, Garchomp, Togekiss, and the Sinnoh starters: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. The expansion also introduces a new card type, Pokémon Tools, which can enhance gameplay by providing buffs like extra energy or increased attack power.

In addition to new cards, the expansion offers updated binder and display board covers featuring Dialga, Palkia, and Darkrai. Players can acquire these cards through booster packs, the Wonder Pick feature, and participate in new themed collections and solo battles for additional rewards.

4. Triumphant Light

The Triumphant Light expansion released on February 28, 2025, introduces 96 new cards, spotlighting the Mythical Pokémon Arceus ex and a novel gameplay mechanic called Link Abilities.

Arceus ex features the “Fabled Lustre” ability, rendering it immune to Special Conditions, and the “Ultimate Force” attack, which deals 70 base damage plus 20 additional damage for each of your benched Pokémon.

Link Abilities are synergistic effects activated when Arceus or Arceus ex is in play, enhancing other Pokémon’s performance.

5. Shining Revelry

The Shining Revelry expansion was released on March 27, 2025, introducing 111 new cards, including shiny Pokémon and characters from the Paldea region. Notable additions feature shiny versions of fan-favorite Pokémon like Charizard ex, Lucario ex, and Pachirisu.

This expansion also marked the debut of Ranked Matches, allowing players to compete against others of similar skill levels and earn emblems based on their season rank . Additionally, from March 27 to April 26, players could participate in in-game missions to earn deck tickets, redeemable for one of nine starter decks, each featuring a different ex Pokémon.

6. Celestial Guardians

The Celestial Guardians expansion was released on April 30, 2025. It adds over 230 new cards, focusing heavily on Generation VII and featuring Pokémon and characters from Pokémon Sun and Moon, including Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala, all Alolan forms introduced in the games, and many of the Trial Captains.

The expansion features the game’s first immersive Supporter cards, Guzma and Lillie. Immersive cards are some of the most sought after variants in Pokémon TCG Pocket. They’re a good example of why trading cards work virtually — there are things they can do that physical cards can’t. With immersive cards, that’s allowing players to inspect them to unlock an animated scene.

7. Extradimensional Crisis

The Extradimensional Crisis expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket is a mini-expansion (A3a) set to release on May 29, 2025. This set introduces the Ultra Beasts from the Alola region, such as Buzzwole ex, Nihilego, Guzzlord ex, Blacephalon, and Type: Null, each marked with a distinctive Ultra Beast label. Notably, Buzzwole ex can deal 120 damage with an attack that can’t be used consecutively, while Nihilego’s attack enhances poison damage.

To celebrate the launch, a themed binder featuring Ultra Beasts will be available for purchase with shop tickets. Additionally, players can obtain a floral display board to showcase favorite cards during the Wonder Pick event from June 11–28.
